Darren Wong
Chairman of HCAA


Darren started his career in hotels in 1984 and now works as the Group Financial Controller of Marco Polo Hotels. Darren has been with the Marco Polo group for over 20 years and has also worked for Mandarin Oriental and Shangri-la, with two years in the PRC to open a new hotel there. Darren received his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, Canada and holds master degrees in Information Systems, Corporate Finance and Management Research.

Alex Li
Vice Chairman of HCAA


Chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee

Alex joined the Great Eagle Group in 1999 as the Financial Controller of The Langham, Hong Kong and was promoted to Regional Director of Finance – Hong Kong in 2012 overseeing the Finance Department of all Hong Kong properties, namely The Langham, Hong Kong, Langham Place Hotel, Hong Kong, Eaton, Hong Kong. He has extensive experience in the hospitality industry of around 36 years and held various positions in the Finance Department in international hotel chains including Mandarin Oriental and Regal before joining the Great Eagle Group.

Martin Lew
Vice Chairman of HCAA


Vice Chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee and responsible for the HCAA website and Bulletin

Martin is the head of Operational Financial Control for Hong Kong & Shanghai Hotels, which owns and manages Peninsula hotels around the world. He is originally from Australia where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant before leaving in 1991 to work for Hyatt International in Dubai, Belgrade, Cyprus, London and again in Dubai for a total of 14 years as Financial Controller and Regional Financial Controller.  Martin moved to Hong Kong in December 2005 to join his present company.

Michael Mak


Michael is the Financial Controller of Harbour Plaza Metropolis and has over 25 years hotel experience in Hong Kong, Beijing and Macau. Before joining Harbour Plaza Group, he was with New World Group, The Excelsior in Mandarin Group and Langham Group. Michael joined the Association in 1993.

Ivan Cheung


Ivan is currently the Financial Controller of Kowloon Shangri-la. Previously, he was with Shangri-la Macau and City Garden Hotel of the Sino Hotel Group. A member of ACCA / HKSA and holder of MBA & BBA (Hons) degrees, Ivan started his career in 1981 and held various positions with Holiday Inn International, Hilton International, Mandarin Oriental, and Sino Hotel Groups.

Andree Yuen
The Finance subcommittee Chairman of the HCAA.


A graduate of Accounting from HK Polytechnic and holder of diploma in Management Study and Purchasing and Supply and certificate of Hospitality Industry (Summer Course) from Hawaii University, Andree spent his early years in the hotel industry with Hilton Hong Kong, Peninsula Group, Excelsior, and Mandarin Oriental. He then opened up Hotel Victoria for New World Group and spent 9 years overseas in San Francisco USA to work for Ramada, Warwick Int'l and Kimco Group. He then joined Shangri-La in Shenzhen and was later appointed Financial Controller of Island Shangri-La Hong Kong.

Christopher Leung


A graduate of Accounting from HK Chinese University and one of the founding members of the Association, Christopher is presently the Financial Controller of Novotel Citygate. He started his career in hotel industry more than 20 years ago. Before joining the Accor Group in 2003, he was with Zenith Hotel International, Holiday Inn International, and Mandarin Oriental Hotel group.

Tim Cheung

Vice-Chairman of Education Sub-Committee


Mr. Tim Cheung is the Director of Operations Analysis of Langham Hospitality Group (LHG). Prior to joining LHG, Tim held positions of Area Financial Controller, Project Financial Controller and senior position in Internal Audit Department in Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited. He was the Deputy Vice President – Finance of Hotel Division in Sun Hung Kai Property Limited. He worked with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company for 15 years as Area Director of Finance for Asia Pacific Region. His previous experiences include 14 years with The Regent Hotel Hong Kong, Sheraton Hotel Hong Kong and he started his hotel career with The Ambassador Hotel in 1971. Mr. Cheung is holder of LLB (Hons) laws degree and BBA (Acct) degree. He is member of CMA and MIPA from Australia. On ad hoc basis, Tim conducted teachings in HK Poly University and education institutes in Hong Kong as well seminars in HCAA.

Marvey Lee
Chairman of Membership Sub-Committee


Currently working as Area Controller of the Royal Plaza Hotel, Marvey started his career in the hotel industry in 1981 with Holiday Inn Harbour View. Before joining Royal Plaza in 1997, he held various positions with the Royal Park and Royal Garden hotels. He is the fellow member of ACCA.

Patric Lee

Secretary of HCAA


Currently the Financial Controller at AMC of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Mr. Patric Lee started his career at Regal Meridien Hotel and has been serving various renowned hotel groups in the field since 1980's.
 
Apart from being a seasoned practitioner in the hospitality industry, he is also passionate to participate in community and public services. Mr Lee was the President of the Rotary Club of Hong Kong Harbour 2014/15; Secretary in the EXCOM of the Hotel Controllers and Accountants Association of Hong Kong (HCAA); EXCOM Member of Lingnan University Accountancy Education Foundation (LUAEF); Honorary Adviser and Vice Chairman of the Committee of the Hospitality Management and Tourism of CMA Australia Hong Kong Branch.
 
In academic and professional aspects, Mr. Lee holds a Master Degree in Accountancy. He is also member of the Institute of Public Accountants, Australia; member of CMA Australia as well as fellow member of the IT Accountants Association in Hong Kong.

Bibiana Lai

Eric Ng


Eric is currently the Financial Controller of the Le Meridien Cyberport. He has over 20 years’ experience in the hotel industry in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Macau. Prior to joining the Le Meridien, he worked for the Peninsula Group, Hotel Equatorial International, Lee Gardens International, Mandarin Oriental, Chinachem and Sino Group of Hotels.

Ziky Ho


Credit Manager of Island Shangri-La and Kowloon Shangri-La Hong Kong, Ziky has over twenty-eight years experience in the hotel industry.  Prior to joining Shangri-la’s, she spent ten years in credit management which made her best suited to identify the source of failures and provide feedback on “area of opportunity for improvement’. Apart from being elected convenor and chairwoman of the Credit Managers’ Committee during the past years, Ziky has serving on the HCAA Activities committee since 2004.

Yvonne Cheng

Yvonne is currently the Director of Finance of Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui. She has been working in the industry for over 20 years with luxurious brand hotels. She started her career at The Regent Hotel Hong Kong where she held a number of key positions including Accountant, Credit Manager, ADoF and appointed as Financial Controller in 1993 when Four Seasons Hotel Limited took over the hotel management. She then joined InterContinental Hong Kong thereafter when the hotel management changed again.

Yvonne holds degrees in Business Administration and in Hospitality Management.
